The Latest AMD Processor
- Processor manufacturer AMD is preparing to launch a five-processor the new
A-Series APU known by the code name "Trinity". The fifth model is
intended for desktop computers.
According
to the plan, the five new AMD processors that will be faced with an
Intel Core-i Third Generation ("Ivy Bridge") is going to begin
shipping to computer manufacturers in October this year, near the release
schedule of Windows 8 on October 26.
Previously,
AMD "Trinity" A-Series APU
was first released for the mobile market. This processor combines the core CPU
with graphics devices (GPU) integrated Radeon HD 7000 series to support Direct
X 11.

of the processor "Trinity"
desktop, starting from the top to the budget segment, are:

A6-5400: dual-core, 3.6 Ghz, turbo mode until the 3.8 GHz with GPU Radeon HD
7540D.

A8-5500: quad-core, 3.2 GHz, turbo mode until the 3.7 GHz, with GPU Radeon HD

A8-5600: quad-core, 3.6 GHz, turbo mode until the 3.9 GHz, with GPU Radeon HD

processor type and A10-5800 K have the TDP (Thermal Design Power) of 100 watts,
while the other type has a TDP of 65 watts. That is, the new AMD processors
are not only faster than the previous generation, but also cooler.
Platform
motherboard used for the five new
processors are using the chipset A75 and A85X Fusion Controller with socket
FM2. A85X chipset supports RAID-5 and provide 6 or more SATA ports.
